Soprano Mariana Flores studied at the National University of Cuyo in Argentina and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. A passionate interpreter of the Baroque repertoire, she collaborates with artists such as Christina Pluhar, Teodor Currentzis, John Eliot Gardiner, and Leonardo García-Alarcón.
She performs on the biggest international stages (Paris Opéra, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Royal Opera of Versailles…) for major operatic productions, as well as for large-ensemble concerts and recitals. She regularly sings with the ensemble Cappella Mediterranea, with which she has the opportunity to blend Baroque music with traditional Argentinian repertoire.
She can be found in numerous award-winning recordings, including the 2021 release of d’India’s “Lamenti & Sospiri”, Monteverdi’s “L’Orfeo”, and in 2022, Sacrati’s La Finta pazza, before the revival of a European tour for this opera, in which she triumphed in the title role in 2019. In 2023, Alfonsina was released, a very personal album of Argentinian popular songs that she recorded with Quito Gato, a repertoire that has been on concert tour ever since.
