« The pianist who shakes up classical music »

Le Figaro

« Simon Ghraichy enjoys himself, he frolics, he is interested in everything and everything interests him. He is the opposite of the introverted pianist who has overcome his neurosis thanks to the keyboard. For him, the keys serve his exuberance, his main trademark.  »

François Delétraz, Le Figaro, 2017

« On stage, the virtuoso breaks with classical conventions, his flamboyant style taking centre stage. With hair worthy of a hard rock guitarist and flashy colours, his touch is electrifying. He stirs the emotions of an audience unaccustomed to swooning (…) With him, a breath of modernity and freshness blows through the ultra-hushed world of classical piano. And the fate of the beaten track.»

Gabriel Libert, Paris Match, 2017

Simon Ghraichy and Marc André

An unusual duo: piano and double bass. It all began with a chance encounter, first on social media where the two artists followed each other, then over coffee. Both cosmopolitan, they share a number of common interests, such as a love of travel and a desire to play unusual repertoires. Marc André is an exceptional double bassist and Simon Ghraichy has a keen interest in arrangements, so it’s no surprise that they decided to embark on adaptations of great works from the repertoire. Simon and Marc revisited Schumann’s Dichterliebe and Fauré’s Pavane. Then, discovering a shared taste for Hispanic music, swaying rhythms, and the colors of Spain and Latin America, they completed their program with an anthology of Spanish dances by Granados and Falla and tangos by Piazzolla. The very warm reception given to their debut concert at the Salle Gaveau in March 2024 confirms the birth of a great duo with unlimited potential.
